Barbara Bruce is the Director of Community Relations for White Mountain Radio (6 radio stations) and talk show host of five weekly radio shows: The Cutting Edge, a community affairs program;“Business Matters,” which is filmed for television and is also on the Internet; “Believe,” a two hour show that empowers people to believe in themselves;“The Pulse,” featuring healthcare information and interviews with the physicians and employees of the local hospital; and “DRUGNET, “ a call in show featuring recovery and education on drugs and alcohol. Barbara is an AZ certified cessation specialist and hosted, produced and directed the first radio talk show in the world regarding tobacco - which she retired after a nine-year run in January 2008.From 2002 – 2007 Barbara served as President of the Show Low Chamber, and is a graduate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management.Barbara continues to serve the community as a board member for Summit Healthcare Regional Medical Center Foundation, The Salvation Army, St. Anthony’s Catholic School, Navajo County Coalition Against Drug Abuse, The White Mountain Symphony Orchestra, and is Co-Chair of The Character First Council in Show Low.Barbara is head of the Speakers Bureau for the Drug Coalition and is President of Friends of the Coalition.Serving at the pleasure of the Governor, Barbara is in her second term on the Governor’s Council for Small Business and chairs the Small Business Finance Committee.Barbara was elected “2008 Business Woman of the Year,” by the Snowflake-Taylor Chamber of Commerce.Prior to coming to Arizona Barbara worked as an Insurance Professional, and taught the National Association of Legal Secretaries’ Course at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.
